The Side Sword (literal translation of the Italian Spada da Lato) was a military sword of the 16th and 17th century Renaissance period that also achieved popularity among civilians, due to its relatively light weight and quickness. It also had an advantage over its contemporary, the rapier, in having the ability to cut efficiently as well as thrust. Side swords were often the weapon of choice for sword and buckler fighting.
Paul Chen's Side Sword, based on a German original, is a beautifully proportioned piece that balances very well. The swept hilt affords excellent hand protection and the blade geometry makes for outstanding performance in both the cut and the thrust.

Solides Schwert
Die Klinge mag etwas kurz sein, ist aber sehr robust. Fingerriemen, Klingenbügel und Fehlschärfe haben mich sofort begeistert. Wenn es jemals eine Zeitmaschine gibt, nehme ich dieses Seitenschwert definitiv mit. Battlemerchant macht einen tollen Job.

Toll gemacht
Ein sehr gut gemachtes Replikat, das gut ausbalanciert ist und angenehm in der Hand liegt. Leider ist der Knauf nicht verschraubt.

Tolles Schwert
Dieses Schwert ist leicht und liegt hervorragend in der Hand. Die Klingenlänge ist optimal, ebenso der Handschutz. Die Klinge besteht aus chinesischem Stahl, mindestens 1065-er und ist 6mm dick. Das Schwert ist full tang (steht nicht alles in der Beschreibung). Sehr scharf und spitz in der Kampfversion. Es ist nicht günstig, aber meiner Meinung nach seinen Preis wert. Ich würde es wieder kaufen und nur empfehlen. Momentan scheint es jedoch nicht auf Lager zu sein.

Sehr gelungenes Replikat, gut ausbalanciert und liegt angenehm in der Hand. Einziger Nachteil ist, dass der Knauf nicht verschraubt ist.
