The axe was an important tool and weapon for the Vikings. These small axes or hatchets were light and easy to handle, making them a popular choice for warriors and craftsmen. Their compact size made them ideal for close combat and for working in tight spaces. Today, Viking axes are still popular with collectors and as decorative elements in living spaces.

The distinctive blade of the bearded axe we offer here is made of high carbon steel, has a blunt edge, and is mounted on an untreated ash wood handle.

This Viking period hatchet is designed as a collector's or decoration / display piece, and, besides its quality as a collectible, is perfectly suited as a prop, e.g. to complete your costume. Now nothing stands in the way of your transformation into a proud warrior!

The steel used here is not rust-proof and might show slight surface tarnishing in places. We recommend you to maintain axes on a regular basis, for example using Ballistol Universal Oil, which is ideally suited for steel care.
