Bascinet with Visor, 14th Century, 2mm steel
- Battle-ready -

A fully battle-ready reconstruction of a late medieval bascinet helmet of the 14th century with a hinged visor. The bascinet evolved in the early 14th century from the cervelliere and was usually worn together with a chain mail shirt.

At the bottom, our reconstruction features drilled brass buttons to which an aventail can easily be attached. The helmet is also equipped with an artfully made visor crafted from 2 mm steel. Both helmet halves are hand-hammered from 2 mm strong sheet steel, neatly welded together and polished. A high-quality, adjustable padded liner is riveted into the helmet.

This helmet is suitable for combat re-enactment.
