Gladiator Dagger with bone hilt
The Roman Gladiators were determined to fight a very brutal close combat in the arenas of the Roman Empire. So a very popular weapon was a short stabbing sword or a dagger.
This Gladiator Dagger is a fine quality replica of a Roman Gladiator weapon found during found during the excavations in Pompeii, which was destroyed by the eruption of the Vesuvius in the year AD 79. It is featuring a very accurate hand carved bone handle. The blade is forged from carbon steel factory blunt thus perfect for home display, reenactment use on stage and in the battle-field. Gladiator weapons were simply just carried into the arena. That is why we do not offer a scabbrd for this dagger. Being made of natural bone, small cracks in the hilts are naturally common. Such small blemishes are authentic as well as characteristic and do not diminish quality nor structural integrity of the hilts.
