Bascinet Helmet without Visor, 2 mm steel

The Original of this battle-ready replica of a bassinet helmet without visor dates in the middle of the 14th century. This type of helmet evolved from the skull cap or cervelliere.

The helmet is handbeaten out 2 mm steel, welded togther from both sides. This manufacture is suitable for full-contact reenactment.

A comfortable, padded cloth liner is attached to the helmet. The brass rivets (vervelles) at the sides are for attachment of an aventail for chestand shoulders. Our line of aventails are available in various mail patternsand may be found in the chain mail category.
