Lorica Segmentata, Type Kalkriese

Very authentic reconstruction of the Roman armour Lorica Segmentata, type Kalkriese.

The Lorica Segmentata has been used by the Roman army for more than 200 years. The earliest finds were in Kalkriese, Germany, and are believed to come from the year 9 AD. Kalkriese is the presumed site of the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest.

Unlike later versions, e.g. from Newstead, the armours from Corbridge and Kalkriese are adjustable in size.

Our replica is fitting with a chest girth of 116 cm to 120 cm. Of course, the final chest girth should always be measured with all padded clothing.
