Scottish Broad Sword

The Scottish Broadsword, the infamous weapon of the Highland clansman, has a long, double-edged blade and a distinctive basket hilt. When combined with targe and dirk, this sword has proven to be more than a match for enemy soldiers on battlefields the world over.

Cold Steel® has chosen to make its own interpretation of this famous sword. Hand-forged, expertly heat-treated and beautifully polished with triple fullers, the 1055 high carbon steel blade is capable of passing the stringent British Proof test. The sword's basket hilt is made of blued steel with a wood grip covered with ray skin and wrapped in wire. Finally, the Broadsword is safely housed in a wood and leather scabbard with blued steel chape and throat.

1055 High Carbon Steel
The carbon content and lean alloy of this shallow hardening steel make this a very sturdy material that avoids a lot of the brittleness commonly associated with higher carbon materials. Particularly suited to blades requiring impact resistance, it's often seen in large fixed blades and swords.

Im Ernst! Mit so einer geschärften Klinge könnte ich ein Schwein zerteilen. Eine echte Kriegswaffe.

Großartiges Schwert mit gutem Schliff

Das Schwert ist großartig und hat eine scharfe Klinge, aber mit zusätzlichem Schleifen könnte es noch besser sein. Die Quaste sieht schön aus, ist aber etwas unpraktisch, deshalb werde ich sie wahrscheinlich entfernen. Ich bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Kauf.

Gut verarbeitetes Schwert zu einem niedrigeren Preis als erwartet. Die Klinge ist nur bis zur Mitte geschärft.

Schönes Schwert, ölig

Wunderschönes Schwert, jedoch sehr ölig. Es muss abgewischt werden und man sollte auf die Verpackung achten, da sie viel Öl enthält. Nicht auf Teppich legen.

Sehr gute Qualität, aber eher eine moderne Version eines Schwertes aus dem 18. Jahrhundert. Nicht sehr scharf. Nicht authentisch für die damalige Zeit, aber ein tolles Schwert.

Excellent Quality and Packaging

The sword arrived right on time, securely packed in a long box that ensured no part was touching or could move. The blade had a generous coating of rust prevention. It was exactly as ordered, and I'm sure my father will be thrilled with it for his birthday. A certificate confirming it passed a British stress test was also included. Extremely satisfied, I will shop here again.
