1055 High Carbon Steel The carbon content and lean alloy of this shallow hardening steel make this a very sturdy material that avoids a lot of the brittleness commonly associated with higher carbon materials. Achtung, sehr scharf!
Beim Reinigen der Konservierungsbeschichtung schnitt das Messer beim ersten Wischen durch mehrere Lagen meines Reinigungstuchs und in meinen Finger (nichts Ernstes)... Vielleicht eine Warnung auf/in der Box in Betracht ziehen... Die Scheide hat etwa in der Mitte eine Falte, die eine Verstärkungsreparatur erfordert... Insgesamt bin ich jedoch sehr zufrieden mit der Qualität des Artikels und der prompten Lieferung...

Tolles Einstiegs-Schwert
Dies ist das erste scharfe Schwert, das ich besitze. Nach etwas Übung sowohl in Solo-Übungen als auch beim Schneiden von Wasserflaschen und Melonen, ist es ziemlich gut. Nicht hervorragend im Vergleich zu anderen scharfen Schwertern, die ich verwendet habe, aber sehr gut. Es ist etwas flexibel, besonders an der Spitze. Wenn die Klingenausrichtung gut ist, schneidet es gut. Der Kunststoffgriff hat einige Grate, der Korb benötigt etwas Feinabstimmung und die Scheide ist mit Plastik ausgekleidet, was einen Punktabzug bedeutet. Andererseits handelt es sich um ein Schwert für etwa 250 Euro. Die Solo-Übung mit einem scharfen Schwert lässt einen den Respekt vor der Waffe spüren, die dazu entwickelt wurde, einen Gegner zu töten oder zu verletzen. Es wäre wirklich schön, wenn es eine stumpfe oder Trainingsvariante gäbe. Ich spiele mit dem Gedanken, die Schneide abzufeilen und die Spitze für eine Übungswaffe abzurunden, aber es wäre besser, ein richtig gefertigtes und auf Training getestetes Modell zu haben. Stumpfe Stahlschwerttrainer sind schwer zu finden.

Hervorragendes Schwert für Enthusiasten
Ich hatte das Cold Steel English Back Sword schon eine Weile im Auge. Es ist ein interessantes Stück, da es eine Art Übergangsklinge ist - nicht ganz ein Breitschwert und definitiv kein Rapier. Als ich es für unter 200 Euro entdeckte, habe ich sofort zugeschlagen. Ich bin sehr froh darüber. Das Schwert war gut verpackt in einem Karton mit zusätzlicher Verstärkung und in schwerem Plastik eingewickelt. Die Klinge war mit einer dicken Schicht Fett geschützt. Scheide und Lederriemen waren separat verpackt. Es ist etwas schwerer als mein schottisches Basket-Hilt-Schwert für Gentlemen und hat nur eine Schneide. Es fühlt sich solide und nicht zu schwer an. Ich habe es noch nicht zum Schneiden benutzt, aber es fühlt sich gut und ausbalanciert in der Hand an. Der Korb ist groß und passt gut in meine Hand. Ich habe keine Einklemmen vom Griff erlebt. Ich denke, der Knauf soll Haifischhaut mit Drahtwicklung imitieren. Leider scheint das hier nicht der Fall zu sein. Es fühlt sich eher wie Plastik an, hat aber zumindest eine gewisse Textur. Das mindert meine Bewertung jedoch nicht. Für den Preis ist es unschlagbar.

Extremely Sharp
While cleaning the blade, it cut through several layers of my cloth and slightly injured my finger. A warning might be helpful. The scabbard has a crease in the middle that needed reinforcement. Overall, very satisfied with the quality of the item and quick delivery.
