Medieval Leather Boots with Strap and Buckle Closure, 14th Century
A pair of handcrafted shaft boots based on late medieval patterns and made of sturdy, vegetable tanned leather.
The shaft reaches below the knee, and the boot can be individually adjusted and closed by means of five sewn-on straps and brass buckles. The strap and buckle closure thus ensures a perfect fit around the shank / calf.
The soles are also made of leather and nailed all around for added durability and stability.
Details:
- Material: vegetable tanned cowhide, brass buckles
- Upper leather: approx. 3 mm
- Soles: approx. 7 mm
- Colour: dark brown
- Available sizes: 40 - 48
Please note:
The robustness of shoes based on historical patterns may not meet modern requirements! They are quite sensitive to asphalt, concrete stone and gravel. These floor coverings did not exist in the Middle Ages! We therefore recommend wearing pattens (medieval wooden overshoes) or insoles, or retrofitting them with rubber soles at the shoemaker of your choice.
