Manica- Gladiator Leather Arm Guard
Manicae were part of the Roman gladiator's standard gear. This arm guard is depicted on countless images from the period. See for example our second picture which shows a mosaic in Zliten (Libya) from the 2nd century AD.
The guard covers the entire arm from the shoulder to the hand. The latin name "manica" means "long arm."
Our reproduction is robustly manufactured and well suited as gladiator gear.
Measurements:
- arm length: approx. 87 cm
- width at shoulder: approx. 35 cm
- width at wrist: approx. 12 cm
- weight: approx. 750 grams
