Medieval Greaves, approx. 1.2 mm Steel, Pair
This fully wearable reconstruction of a medieval leg armour is designed to protect the lower leg (shin and calf) from below the knee to the ankle / instep. It is crafted from 1.2 mm thick steel, blackened on the inside for better corrosion resistance, and has rolled edges at the back and all around at the bottom.
The front and back panels of the leg guards are hinged together at the side, and close by pushing the metals pegs through the holes located on the other side. Two brown leather straps with brass buckles are also included for proper fastening.
These fully wearable shin guards are an ideal accessory for medieval re-enactment, LARP, stage or fancy dress. They are most fitting for settings of the late Middle Ages settings and particularly well-suited to complete the armour of a European knight.
These greaves are sold in pairs.
Details:
- Material: approx. 1.2 mm steel, leather straps with antiqued brass buckles
- Overall length: front approx. 30 cm / back approx. 27 cm / side approx. 35 cm
- Width of opening at calf: approx. 13 cm
- Width of opening at ankle: approx. 9 cm
- Weight (pair): approx. 2620 g

The steel used here is not rust-proof and might show slight surface tarnishing in places. We recommend you to maintain plate armour on a regular basis, for example using Ballistol Universal Oil, which is ideally suited for steel care.
