This is a reconstruction following an original from approx. 1370 AD. The original is on display at the Valeria Museum, Sitten, Switzerland. This type of helmet evolved from the skull cap or cervelliere during the early 14th century. The visor is hinged at the front center and removable. It is therefore often called klappvisor bascinet.
This helmet is handmade from 2 mm sheet steel, riveted and welded. The fine workmanship ensures high robustness and therefore best possible protection during combat reenactment.
There is a comfortable, padded cloth liner. The brass rivets at the sides are for attachment of an aventail for chest and shoulders. Our line of aventails are available in various mail patterns and may be found in the chain mail category.

Decent Choice for a Modern Teuton
This steel construct offers an easily detachable visor. This is both blessing or a curse depending on one's approach to customizing it to specific needs. Getting a strap of leather through the curled chin to keep the faceplate from wobbling left and right should prove to be most fruitful solution. Additionally I used cubic magnets to keep the forehead "key" from spinning and letting the visor fall off. One small nitpick I have is that one of metallic rings on the inner side of the helmet was a bit rusted. Overall, a solid product that offered me a lot of fun to personally tinker with and customize.
Guter Helm
Innenfutter raus, neue Kappe rein, Brünne dran und Löcher für die Belüftung bohren. Das Produkt wirkt groß, aber nach den Anpassungen kann man es gut verwenden.
